Born in Lubbock, Texas hometown, of Buddy Holly. Married & 4 wonderful children. During my teen years spent a lot of time in my dad's band playing various instruments including Guitar, Piano, Bass Guitar and Drums. Favorite was piano, hey I'm lazy I like to sit down. I credit my dad for getting me into radio as he was for many years himself. Got my FCC Radio 1st telephone license (back when they were required) from Texas Tech University. Then started doing the radio thing in 1978 in Comanche, Texas. Spent a good many years in radio in Lubbock, Texas, including album rock KFMX, then over 15 years in Midland, Texas in radio including at "Real Rock KBAT- The Bat" and also opening my mobile DJ business.
Along with being an on-air personality and programmer, I'm also a certified radio broadcast engineer from the Society of Broadcast Engineers, as well as a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers. I'm the guy who has to repair the computer and CD player when they freeze or start skipping. I worked in radio in Sacramento, California for only 9 months before I decided to get the hell out of there and back to Texas as fast as I could. Then worked for a corporate group of stations in San Antonio before finally coming to Kerrville - as I don't like the corporate world. I like the hometown atmosphere as it was when I first started in this business. Craziest things I've ever done--- At a radio promotion in Lubbock, myself and a group of radio personalities let a frat club from Texas Tech shave our heads bald on live TV to raise money for charity. The next morning I looked in the mirror and said "what the hell have you done to yourself?" Second craziest thing was at a live broadcast for a water bed store was to have a water bed destruction party just so we could draw a crowd. There we filled a 500 gallon water bed mattress and rammed it with my own pickup truck. Caused a little bit of front end damage, but "what a rush to hit all that water!" Was a little mentally sick over my truck, but hey we made it on the 10 o'clock news on television. All time favorite rock song: ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man, Favorite car: my Mustang convertible with the top down and of course playing Sharp Dressed Man. Favorite food: Mexican, followed by close second, bar-b-q. Favorite restaurant though ... Salt Lick Bar-B-Q in Driftwood, Texas. I love the outdoors. Favorite thing to do is hang out at the beach. I'm excited about building a new radio station unlike any station that you have heard in Kerrville. I look forward to being around town and meeting you, rockin' with Classic Rock 94-3 Rev FM!
